Is Hobe opened?

Anybody know if access is available to Hobe for spotting now? I heard the lot was closed because of Sandy.

No... but not sure why because they claim it was damaged... I went in there the other day for a sec to catch a departing A380 and all looked as it was... perhaps the sand was a bit higher... but that was it!

While I am not advocating you go there... if you need a plane or two, I don;t think you will have a hard time from US Park Police if you go in a little ways to take a picture or two and come out... Just park on the other side of the bridge and walk there... long ass walk, but not horrible. NYPD usually will not bother you and US Park Police does not patrol it as often as they could due to less officers on patrol in Jamaica Bay.
