Rom, it was good to actually get to introduce myself today. You got some nice captures there. I hope you made it home ok without your battery dying on you again. Was good to hang out with Eric, Jason, Akie, and Mark as well.

Here are a few of mine that I have edited so far. Decent amount of specials today. I can't help but think that Matt helped us out with the clear skies and special liveries. Thanks Matt!

    Sorry Kaz....

Awesome shots Steve! I like how the snow make those birds look extra special. It was nice meeting you! Thanks for your concern, I did make it home ok. Argh, can't believe I missed the beardy Virgin because I left for 3 minutes to buy stupid cigarettes! Here's one more reason to quit: spotting!

Oh man...yeah, I'd have been tripping over people to get out of the store to get a shot of beardz.

I can't believe I forgot to add this to my set.....the whole reason I stayed all day instead of returning to the office.....guess its two straight weeks without a day off now...

Looks like Steve and Jason both captured that Q400 from different sides. Great fill light today bouncing off that
snow cover. I'm jealous- wish I could off been out there.

OMG, it was great! Normally I don't really like shooting during midday since the light is usually pretty harsh and you get blown out tops and underexposed bottoms, but I LOVE shooting midday after it snows. The light bounce was incredible, especially on the AA birds.

I was only planning on popping out for about 2 hours, but one thing let to another and a few specials popped up on the radar, so I came out earlier than expected and stayed later than I originally wanted to. See ya in March!

Excellent day for spotting (even though it was cold), and seeing everyone! Finally got around to a few images. All the images below were taken with the 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x teleconverter. Now to work on the remaining images.

    A 31R departure

    A favorite of the day

This is one airline that needs rebranding

One of my favorite of the day as Cathay Pacific passed overhead climbing out

Time for a shave, but not until Kaz catches the beard

    Some BIG Virgin (G-VBIG)

    Nice seeing that Kangaroo again!

    Great stuff Mark!!

I had a guest Peter from Bratislava, Slovakia and we began at sunrise. 31R, then 4R/L at BITTERLY COLD Bayswater, then back to 31s. Also great to see the guys, Eric, Steve, Mark, Akie...

    Some morning stuff

    Imagine if I had Mark's 500mm and 2x TC

    Heat Haze USA

The rest has been well covered already :-)

Superb shots, Mark, Manny, Akie. Manny, I was originally going to Bayswater and felt SO relieved when liveatc started saying "cleared to land 31R". Man, I bet Bayswater was bitchy cold, as you'd call it
