    2013 Spotting Wish List

I remember we had a thread like this a few years ago and thought it would be fun to resurrect the idea!

What is your wish list for 2013? My top five are:

    1. Las Vegas Sands BBJ (N108MS)
    2. HMX-1 VH-60N
    3. 89th AW C-40
    4. Triarc Group Gulfstream IV (N394TR)
    5. Trump 757

    Jerslice,

Hate to break it to you, but the Vegas L1011 has not flown since it was heavily damaged at Don Muang in Thailand during the 2011 flooding there... Pretty sure she has been written off.

I heard the water didn't reach the engines. I have been meaning to try to find out some info. Don't forget he has another one.

Found this--I wonder if it's still in Thailand.

Edit: looks like they took it for a test flight in August:

It would have to be. Though if the engines were under water for any period of time they would have never asked for a special flight permit. If any of that is the case we have seen the last of that bird for sure.

Nick V already said it - they've got two...but IIRC that one isn't in the greatest shape either.

I'll also take an RAF tanker L1011

The RAF L1011s are allegedly being service extended I read recently. According to Airliners.net, Sand's second L1011 is in storage in the UAE, and non-flightworthy as well. I would say that Orbital Sciences and the RAF are our only L1011 hopes left, sadly.

I think it may actually be stored in Tacoma. It showed up on FlightAware in 2008:

388 is the wrecked one, 389 is the backup.

For me it would be a treat catching another 707 in the air (even if it's Travolta's), ditto's on the L-1011 and more 747-SPs. On the military side a B-1B and a B-2 would be nice.
