LGA In the good ol' days.

Here's some 8mm film footage I shot at LGA when I was about 14 years old. I miss how close you were able to get
to the action in those days. They had a great open air observation deck atop the main terminal. (Sorry for some of the
frames bouncing it the film to digi transfer. The sprocket holes are damaged on the original film.)

Dude! That is seriously awesome. Excellent choice of music as well, Slowhand's playing is timeless. I bet Phil will love seeing this

Thanks. BTW, I can't imagine why I chose a JT8 Engine for the title animation. It's so random, but I guess it was just a good
excuse to draw airplane stuff on something other than my school books.

Somebody call the cleanup crew, we're gonna need a few mops! EXCELLENT footage, and phenomenal music selection...love me some Clapton! I'm sober now, but I'd venture to guess that with the right concoction, Layla could potentially sound like "LaGuardia". Jus' sayin'.

NOt back but you missed the piano outro of that song! Nice pic tho! ;)
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Other then the fact it's on a 727, the American airlines livery remains unchanged over 30 yrs later!

i miss the days when i was sitting in class on my high school's 3rd floor watching 727 arrivals into LGA one after another after another after another after another... etc.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Hey what HS? I went to Msgr McClancy in Elmhurst and the Runway 4 arrivals came RIGHT over the school!! Many a time the teachers had to pause especially when the weather was awful!!
And I remember my Dad taking me to the Observation deck at LGA!! That was always very cool!!

I can relate to that Gerard, as part of Lawrence HS class of '91, we had 31R arrivals going directly overhead. While I was attending there was a 3-year construction project to replace all the windows with soundproof ones. They worked pretty well(except for Concorde)
