    JFK - 12/29/2012 (GOL)

While watching PlaneFinder I noticed GOL9117 inbound for JFK (which I thought might be a phantom flight). Decided at the last minute to make a quick dash for the field after finding out it was a real chartered flight inbound for JFK. In addition to catching the GOL caught a couple of other goodies. All images were taken with an monopod and the ISO varied from 2500 to 4000 so the quality is so-so. Enjoy!

That GOL will be coming in every Saturday night for a few more weeks. It has been here 3 saturday's now.
It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do

Unfortunately GOL is a night time arrival and departure

    William......according to Airfleets.net, Atlas has 4 - 767-200s, and 3 - 767-300s

Excellent Mark!! Image quality looks great. What noise reduction software do you use?

I may have to get the Nik Define software. Im never happy with results at higher ISOs after using NN.

Steve ..... For daytime shots I typically run NN and Dfine once before resizing the image and I sharpen the image twice, once in the native file size and a second time after the image has been resized.

For night images I typically do the same as listed above but run NN a second time after the image has been resized and I may or may not do sharpening of the image after its resized. You may end up with over-sharpened results.

Is the Gol really just a short-term charter? The PA put up signage in T4 and on the monorail for it. It arrives late Saturday night and departs around 3am on Sunday morning. Routes in via Punta Cana and out to Caracas. They just started Orlando service, too, so either of those might be being used as an impromptu scissor hub.

I have heard that the GOL JFK flight is a very temporary service, and can only be booked with reward tickets, can't be purchased. Only lasts a few more weeks.
