that last Evergreen 742 is heading for PSM on 12/27 for storage, K4 is parking some of its Classics,but is retaining 8,including the ex NWA ships equipped with the powerful "R" version of the JT9D,some of these Classics were among the last off the line and have the HF aerials buried in the vertical stabilizer as opposed to being mounted on the wing tips like the vast majority of the Classics.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
If that a.net thread is to be believed, then the entire active fleet was at JFK yesterday morning. I saw 3 EIAs plus the Saudi, but the only one of the 3 green ones I was able to read was 485, which is that last 742.
