After a busy week, I needed a little aviation therapy, so I headed over to CLT after work.

And a bonus shot from Uptown.

Sunny, 60 degree weather, and a special visitor brought a crowd to the overview today.

We had a different Kalitta bird come in a couple of days ago, and I hear it's going to be around for a few more days.

A couple of shots from last weekend:

This 757 was an old North American Airlines bird, N756NA, which US Airways leased from them.

    US Navy T-45 trainer

    A few from today:

Xtra Airways 737 - this was Hillary Clinton's campaign plane last year.

Winds were 240 at 22 gust 33 this afternoon, and that combination led to back-to-back A330 arrivals on Runway 23, something we don't see very often.

We had a line of strong storms roll through the southeast Wednesday night ahead of a cold front, which caused this Turkish Airlines A330 bound for ATL divert to CLT, even though our weather wasn't all that much better at the time. The rain picked up again just about the time I got to the airport - I had to find a spot to keep out of the wind and rain as best I could.

Francis Ford Coppola owns this colorful Falcon 7X that arrived at CLT this afternoon.

The left wing and horizontal stabilizer are painted red, and the left wing/stab are painted green.

Took a ride out to CLT after work Friday and caught some interesting visitors.

    C-130H of the Ohio ANG

    Miami Air 738

A pair of T-1A Jayhawk trainers out of Columbus AFB. A hundred years ago, long before the Jayhawk was around, I flew Tweets and Talons out of Columbus.
