American parked their A330s when traffic fell off a cliff earlier this year, but were looking at swapping in 772s in their place. They had a couple floating around CLT a couple of months ago for familiarization work, and a few days ago they started operations. Right now, they fly a pair of 772 doing a MIA - CLT - MUC run. The timing works out so the MUC - CLT flight arrives around the same time (maybe 30 minutes apart) as the MIA - CLT flight arrives. A couple of hours later, it departs for MIA, and the second 772 departs for MUC about a half hour later. I don't know about the CLT - MIA leg, but the Munich flight is cargo only.

We caught them both departing Saturday afternoon. We were up on the hourly deck again, and weren't too worried about light, since there was a high overcast. This is the CLT - MIA flight departing on 18L

The CLT - MUC flight ended up going off 18C - and of course, as he was taxiing for departure, the sun came out and we were shooting right into it. It would have been great from the overlook, but we didn't have enough time to get there.

The Carolina Panthers have switched to Delta for their road game charters this season. We got a DL 777 in to CLT this afternoon, taking the team to Tampa Bay for Sunday's game:

The Arizona Cardinals flew into CLT late Friday night on this Atlas Air 744 for their game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.

DL used an A350 to bring the Detroit Lions in to Charlotte for their game with the Panthers this weekend.

The AA Reno Air heritage jet was parked down at the maintenance hangars this afternoon.

Catching up a little here. Back in February, Qatar brought a 777 on a cargo flight multiple times over the course of a few weeks.

Got the AA Reno Air heritage scheme arriving a couple of weeks ago.

Last week, a Sun Country 737 flying for Amazon/Prime Air arrived:

Out to CLT this afternoon for a special - Volaris brought a Wonder Woman special scheme in today.

While we were waiting for Volaris, we saw Gulfstream G-V N444SC departing. Interesting airplane, with markings of Puma athletic shoes. The scheme was introduced a few years back when rapper Jay Z joined Puma as "Creative Director" of Puma Basketball. The 444 in the registration is based on the title of the album he released at the time, and SC are his initials, Shawn Carter.

Thanks! We were in the area, so we took a quick lap around CLT this afternoon. Saw Michael Jordan's Gulfstream G550 on the FBO ramp.

The Russians are coming! We had an IL-76 stop in to CLT earlier this week. They were delivering something to Corning Life Sciences in Durham. And no, I don't know why they flew into CLT rather than RDU, but I'm glad they did! I actually caught this same IL-76 at CLT about five years ago.

This would have been the shot of the year if that AA 737 had moved just a little...
