Spent an hour or so at the Overview this afternoon, then went for a lap around CLT. I saw Michael Jordan's G IV landing, and when I got over to the FBO, a black Range Rover with dark tinted windows rolled out the gate...

Nice, sunny catch of a rare plane Adam.
MJ has a great looking GIV Moose, nice catch.
Hopefully I'll be able to get to the airport this weekend while visiting family. I'm looking forward to trying out the new "hill" spot for runway 36L.

Apparently summer has arrived in CLT - it was 85 degrees this afternoon. That's quite enough of that!

    CLT 4/27

Hey Moose it looks like we were at CLT the same day. When I arrived in the late afternoon there were a ton of people at the overlook, the most I've ever seen with hardly a parking spot available, but I didn't see another photographer.

The lighting was alright when I arrived but got a little cloudy towards sunset so I decided to practice some panning.

flight 1787 to Portland departing 18C with an MD-10 on CRJ departing 18L.

The first time I saw a Oneworld sticker on a US plane. It seemed to be on nearly all A321s and Heavies but not many others.

    "Misty" arriving from Trenton.

Somebody decided to depart from 18L...

    A relatively early touch-down.

    Arriving from SFO.

The next time this goes to the paint shop it'll get Envoy colors.

Smoking the mains, arriving from Louisville.

PDT4372 arriving after the 20 minute flight from Greer, South Carolina.

The daily afternoon flight from DFW.

The giant contrail created by A380, DLH441 (IAH-FRA).

    Arriving from Newark.

One plane that wont see the new American colors.

    Accelerating down 18C for Columbus.

    Departing, en-route to Jacksonville.

    Departing to St. Louis.

Flight 730 to Heathrow waiting in a long departure queue.

    CLT 4/30

I stopped by CLT again but the light was mostly pretty awful so I did some more panning.

    Arriving from Chattanooga.

My favorite aircraft arriving from Rome.

The first time I got an ERJ ribbon.

    Lufthansa!

And of course the Luffy lady.

Making a uey at the end of the runway for departure.

    Accelerating down the runway.

    A busy ramp.

    DAL826 arriving from ATL.

    Buzzing in from CVG.

Incurred troubles in the departure queue and returned to the gate.

Departing to EWR with rarer ERJ winglets.

Smoking the mains on runway 18C

    Inbound from ORD.

A collection of tails with a hiding 727.

Hi, I am Gus from KATL. Have any of the local CLT spotters heard any rumors about the Airbus 350 going there on Wednesday? I have heard that it might. If it is I will be driving my way up there. Thanks in advance!!
    Gus

Nothing yet, Gus...it just got to Eglin yesterday, and I thought it might be there for a few days of testing. I'll certainly be watching for it, and will post anything I hear.

Hey Guys a little US news I want to share that should make some of you happy. As of Monday May 5 US combined two of the A-319 subfleets into 1, (former East A319 and former West H319) into 1 big group. What does that mean for CLT spotters. All the former West Special Scheme aircraft, the two America West retro's, Cardinals, Arizona, and Nevada 319's will all start passing thru CLT much much more often than in the past. This first week may be a little slow as some aircraft are still in their normal routings but give it a week or two and you will see plenty of former West 319's in CLT everyday.

    Cheers

Very cool! Also great news for PHL and PDX spotters. After all the time I have spent at PHL I still don't have a good photo of any those five birds...
