    Thank you very much!

Tim Kaine was in Charlotte for a campaign event today, and I took a long lunch to run down to CLT to catch his campaign jet.

    Thanks, Mark!

Another campaign visit to Charlotte on Sunday. I'm still missing Mike Pence's plane. He's supposed to be in NC, but not Charlotte, this week. With a couple of weeks to go, I still may have a chance.

Turns out Pence did fly into CLT this afternoon - his first campaign stop was in Salisbury, about 45 minutes north of Charlotte. Left the office a little early and was able to catch it - this makes the full collection of 2016 campaign planes for me!

Took a ride out to CLT after work Friday, and caught this US Navy C-40A.

Here's the Charlotte skyline from the hourly deck.

That light on AF1 and the jets you got while waiting for it is absolutely incredible, and the angle really flatters the jets. Nice job!

    Thanks, Mark!

Seems like forever since I've been out to CLT, but spending last week in NY killed a lot of my local spotting time.

    A couple from Friday night:

This morning, we had a pair of AH-1W Super Cobras at CLT. They are assigned to HMLA-773 Det B out of Joint Base McGuire in NJ.

After midnight last night, we had an Antonov An-124 drop in, so I went out this morning to grab a few shots. It's one I haven't caught before.

That Antonov has me drooling.... I really need to catch one of those beasts one of these days!

John, the AF1 touchdown shot with the runway sign in it is poster-worthy. Colors of the plane and sky are just perfect

    The evening rush...

It's 23 departure images stacked, shot from the Overlook over a 35 minute period Wednesday night.

Conditions weren't great today, but two of the three L-US A320s that I haven't shot yet were both going to be in, within about 20 minutes of each other, plus I got an E190 that I didn't have yet. The DL 767 brought the Atlanta Falcons in to play the Panthers. As a bonus, I got the Frontier A320 with sharlets.

Those bastards...I headed over to CLT Sunday afternoon, and as I rolled through the cargo area, I saw the Prime Air (Amazon.com) 767 taxi in and park on the ramp. Checking FlightAware, I saw they were running about 3 hours late. Hoping they might try to make up some time, I stopped on the hourly deck thinking I might catch their departure. I waited and waited, shooting some 36R departures. Every time I refreshed FA, the estimated departure time kept changing to match the current time. I finally gave up, and dropped by the overlook. Just as I got there, I hear tower clear them onto 36R... :-(

I was in NYC all week for organizational meetings, but didn't have time to do any shooting. Got home Friday night, and Saturday evening I took a run over to CLT for a little bit.
