As part of the International Champions Cup soccer tournament, Chelsea FC is playing Paris Saint-Germain in Charlotte tonight. Chelsea arrived this afternoon in this Swift Air 737, which is also being used by the Rolling Stones on their 2015 North American tour. PSG arrived in a TAG Aviation 757.

We had an IL-76 drop into CLT today. An AA A330 ferrying from Europe to CLT diverted to Newfoundland the other day with an engine problem. The -76 picked up a replacement engine and associated equipment.

We had another Russian Beast visit CLT today - an Antonov An-124 dropped in to pick up a hydro-electric turbine from Siemens and fly it to Saudi Arabia.

Hadn't been to CLT in weeks, but I had a meeting downtown after work, and it was still in the 60s when I got done, so I made a quick stop.

Back down to Charlotte after Thanksgiving in New York, and I got out to CLT for about an hour before sunset today:

Haven't posted anything in a while, but I have been out to CLT a few times the past few weeks.

This guy returned to CLT after declaring an emergency. Landed and taxied clear at the end, had the Fire guys check him over - I heard the pilot ask if there was any signs of smoke, but I didn't hear where he thought it might be coming from. Once he had the all clear, they taxied to the terminal with ARFF in trail.

We had an Atlas 744 freighter come into CLT this morning. It is picking up relief supplies donated by Samaritan's Purse, a North Carolina charitable organization. When I left the house, FlightAware was showing Rwy 18 ops, but by the time I got to the airport, they had switched to 36...it was also overcast, and the rain started just about the time I got there. Listening to the scanner, I heard them check in for 36R, so I headed over to a spot I know...of course, the rain picked up as they were on final.

    How about these, Mark? ;-)

A couple of sports charters at CLT today...

Delta 757 flew the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team in for a Saturday night game against the Hornets.

Delta A330 flew the Seattle Seahawks in for Sunday's NFL playoff game against the Panthers.

It was cold and windy out on the top of the parking deck this morning, but it was worth it!

Love that head on shot of the 737 moose. I was in CLT up on the garage on a layover last month and found myself standing in the exact same spot while 7+ aircraft were stacked up waiting to cross. Woulda made an excellent photo.. except it was just after sunset, overcast, and I didn't have a camera with me. I'm remembering that spot though for a nice morning :)

Thanks for keeping us up to date with CLT happenings.
