Thunderstorms in Atlanta meant a rare treat for CLT spotters - a British Airways 777 from LHR diverted into CLT this evening. After nearly two hours, they departed for the rest of the trip to ATL. A big thanks to Adam S for the heads up on this!

Ludicrous levels of ISO and subsequent noise reduction on this one!

Since I was at the airport already, I figured I would take a few more shots...

It's been a month since I've been to CLT, and I took a run over this afternoon as the AA Astrojet came through.

Brand new A321, one of the last ordered by US Airways before the merger.

Excellent coverage of the Astrojet Moose, I love that paint job!

Some nice exposures on the night shots too

I took a ride to the Overview this evening, and while waiting for something to happen on 18C, I saw this big yellow thing approaching on Runway 23...

They were heading back to BWI, so I ran over to the parking deck, and managed to get a shot as they were waiting in the 18L departure line.

While I'm at it, let me post a few shots from the past couple of weeks. Ron Peel was down here for a couple of days last week, and we were able to spend a little time together at the overview and the parking deck.

Since JetBlue traded gate space with the old AA gates, we see them on 18C a little more.

At the parking deck, we caught a couple of NC ANG C-130s departing.

This aircraft is used for forest fire work, and carries the large day-glo ID numbers.

Sunday afternoon, I caught the Las Vegas Sands Corp. Gulfstream IV arriving.

I was up on the hourly deck to watch the fireworks downtown, but managed to get a little spotting in when this guy showed up. It's a weekly flight from Punta Cana, DR.

By dumb luck, I caught the XTRAirways 734 arriving on a weekly charter from Montego Bay.

A rare visitor to Charlotte this afternoon, an Air France 747-400 en route to Atlanta from Paris diverted due to thunderstorms in the Atlanta area.

An interesting combination - an American Airbus and a French Boeing!

Tonight, the Xtra Airways charter used N134AS, which was used by U2 on their Innocence + Experience 2015 Tour. The titles have been removed from the fuselage, but the tail logo remains.

Steve Furst made his way through CLT this evening. We couldn't get together, but I did get to see him...
