The much anticipated and nail-biting landing of the Curiosity rover happens tonight! And it's gonna be brought to us live on various livestreams (most prominently NASA TV). Anyone else going to be tuning in to see how this goes as it happens?

For those who don't know what Curiosity is, this video should explain it (and excite those of us who do know even more)
Hell yes brother I'll definitely watch this, I remember when they landed Pathfinder back in '97- we were watching it on TV at work and people were clapping when the first images were shown of the surface- I'll be watching with fingers crossed, that looks like a b*tch of a landing they have to pull off.
Imagine there were people on board this flight....stepping onto the surface of Mars for the first time....will we see it in our lifetimes?
Sounds like this rover is kind of a scout to prepare for that, so who knows? If funding ever gets going, may be sooner than we think.Originally Posted by megatop412

I just wish they had an arm EXTEND OUT from the side of the ship or something to film the whole event from the outside as it happens. I 'd love to see that thing actually land from a birds-eye view!

Another great achievement for NASA. Unfortunately, my eye lids were shut around 11:30pm, but did I manage to catch the news early this morning to see some footage.
