American Airlines DC-3 Flagship Detroit Flying Out of JFK Wednesday 7/18

The American Airlines DC-3 Flagship Detroit will be doing a flight out of JFK Wednesday 7/19 at 10 am.

It will be returning to JFK after that but I don't have an arrival time yet.

The plane actually arrived on Tuesday.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Damn! I sit in spitting distance all week long and the ONE day i CANT go there... The space shuttle, A380s, all good and well. But I'd sell my kid to see that DC3 in person.
    Regards,

She's somewhere near Hangar 10 (AA maintenance hangar) but not sure exactly where. Looks like departure will be after 10 now.

My first actual flight into JFK with me flying the plane was back in Sept. '94, in good old N514AC,a DC-3C freighter (former Navy R4D), we came in on the Canarsie approach to 13L, and departed on 22R ,and were vectored over a moonlit Manhattan with Dinah Washington singing to us through the ADF, I love the DC-3 !!!
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
