AA among top 10 brands that won't soon exist...

    http://www.foxbusiness.com/industrie...appear-in-2013

The article is about about a week old. Curious to hear thoughts.

(For the record, I always thought US Airways would have gone extinct before AA)
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

It would be SHOCKING to me if AA goes the way of Pan Am and TWA, but then again, GM went bankrupt too...

American's management is going away but the brand is not. US Airways will keep the AA brand when they take over. The US Airways brand will be the one to disappear.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

For the record, I concur. And of course on a technicality, US Airways did go extinct - they are America West flying as US Airways. And from what I read, the same would happen with AA. So it would be America West flying as American Airlines. And someone actually thought deregulation would be a good thing

Truer words have rarely been uttered. As an aviation and diplomatic historian 4 December 1991 is one of the saddest days in recent history. TWA I was never fond of - but then again can you really be a fan of both Pan Am and TWA? As for GM, they survived bankruptcy - maybe AA will manage the same.
