Thank you! I was out there with Eric, I'm sure his stuff will destroy mine. Sadly, nothing bigger than an A320 came at sunset. Also, weirdly, a lot of heavies were going 22R, such as Iberia A340-600 and I think BA 744. Weird.

Hey Jason, thanks for coming out and hanging for an hour.

Its that time of year for silhouette shots and the conditions were right tonight except we had no large aircraft come at the right time.

It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do

You're stuff is great. I'm just dissapointed we didn't get larger aircraft at the right time. Next time

Thanks! Let me know the next time the conditions are right for this. It takes me only about 5 minutes to get there.

Man I love those sunset shots guys. Very ethereal. The jetblue jungle jet looks like it just scalped the sun, and that one shot of the red sun and the Manhattan buildings in the background....straight outta sci fi. It's like what I see in dreams sometimes

I will say, that was quite different for anything I've done before, spotting wise. Will have to try that again!

The big boys were indeed operating from 22R; I was camped out on the Rockaway side of the bay waiting.

    Love all your sunset shots.

Nice work boys! Here are a few shots that I was able to get from Southold, NY (on the north fork of Long Island). A lot of traffic passes through this area either on the way to JFK (typical at a flight level of around 19,000) or just passing through.

Dreamlifter passing through around flight level 36,000 on the way to South Carolina and way way out of range from where I was located.

I think a telescope would have been better for the Dreamlifter.

Yes sir..........the 500mm was naked. Next time I'll try with the 1.4x and a more steady hand. All those were taken hand held. I am sure my technique could be improved. I was thinking of you when that Dreamlifter passed way out there.
