6/1 Lufthansa Boeing 747-800 Intercontinental Inaugural IAD (Image Heavy)

After a month of hard work and preparation the day finally arrived...

It was a pleasure to see Cary again who I'm sure will provide some more details and photos from the actual reception.

Here are my my photos of the aircraft:

    And an added bonus...

awesome shots! I was down there on the 30th (pics to come soon) and saw the 124 sitting out on the west side of the airport...shame they couldn't have taken the long taxi route to 19L where I was shooting...taxi shots would have been epic!
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

Great shots. Nice to have the wet pavement in those. The one with the tower in the background is very nice!

You got to shoot from a clean ramp after the sun came out, plus cockpit and departure shots...no fair! I saw you and Sunil walking around the plane when I was on the people mover. Nice shots (but really, I hate you) and good seeing you again

Thanks, guys! I was really pleased with how the shots came out.

Cary, you got a beautiful water canon shot! Just the thought of everyone running like madmen onto the ramp to get the water canon salue makes me laugh.

Threeholeglory, any chance you have the reg on the AN-124?

Awesome set! I cannot imagine what it must have felt like to be standing next to that beauty out on the ramp..
