    No Hitter For the Mets!

Johan Santana has thrown a NO HITTER.

I put the game on in the fourth inning, watching it develop, and I think I held my breath for the last two innings! I still remember Tom Seaver's one-hitter against the Cubs in 1969 - and I wondered if I'd ever see a Met throw a no hitter. And to close it out on a strike out, even more impressive!

What's 8020 games between friends? Holy Crap! I was beginning to think I would never see them do it.

It was great! A few minutes after it happened what came to mind is how much Bob Murphy would have loved to call this game. Howie and Gary had great calls.

I watched the game on TV also one 9f my buddies was at the game. I am thrilled for Santa and the Mets, but still hate the Mets ownership!

I was watching "Hatfield and McCoys" Part 1 (great show) and during a commercial break did the sports scan, Yankees, NBA game and then what the heck, the Mets even though from earlier I knew they were winning big. Was about to go back to H&M when I suddenly realized that SOB was pitching a no-hitter!! No way I'm missing this!! I'm a die-hard Yankee fan but even I got nervous watching the final 3 outs!! Very very cool and considering how Santana has battled back from a career threatening injury it was even more impressive!! And this was his 2nd complete game shutout in a row!! Nice!!
BTw, and I missed this during the celebration, did you see the fan in the Carter jersey run onto the field and join the celebration!!?? Apparently the players didnt as he was swept up in their joy but oh boy security did and they dragged him out of the group and put a beatdown on him!! You can see it in the background!1 Pretty funny!!

Oh yeah, for you hockey fans Howie Rose did NOT scream "Met-teau, Met-teau Met-teau" at the end of the no-hitter on the radio!!
