    Super Moon 2012

Post em... mine is really bad. My location had a lot of distortion and the moon was way high as I had to wait for it go above a few buildings :-( Also at 400mm my lens does not resolve far away subjects well ... and the Moon is pretty far so this is at 350mm to compensate.

My view was obstructed by a cloud layer :( so I didn't see the moon. So the best I could was to Photoshop what I think my super moon might have looked liked.

Mark, unfortunately if the Moon really were that big, the scene might look like this:

And Manny- your 200-400mm wide open at 400mm is about as soft as any of my glass at f/8

    Here was my shot:

It was shot with my 400 mm and is cropped. The problem with the moon is that when it was overhead, it doesn't look much bigger than a normal moon. It appeared to be its' largest size when it was low in the sky, either rising or setting. It was also quite colorful at this time due to the Earths atmosphere. It was cloudy where I was when it was rising and then cleared later in the evening when I took my shot. I didn't wake up to see it setting either.

Here are my takes on the super moon. I calculated the rising time and position or moon, then went to Liberty State Park to get the super moon with Statue of Liberty.
Ok, I did cheat a little bit. These were taken on Sunday instead of Saturday. It was too cloudy on Saturday.
