Cessna 421 Circling Over Gulf, Pilot Unresponsive

Happening now, west of Tampa and about 150 miles south of Crestview, FL. Live coverage on CNN as I type.

CNN reports two F-15s have been scrambled, report windows iced over at 28K feet. Aircraft is now below 10K feet.

This one hits pretty close to home for me. Pete was a frequent visitor at SRQ in the old FBO I started out in many years ago. I was flying all day yesterday myself (including a quick pit stop in Sarasota) and only heard bits and peices through texts from friends about this crash. Rest in Peace Mr. Hertzak.

    Sorry for your loss
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
