    NAS Oceana (KNTU) 4-13-12

    Hey Guys,

A day trip down to Oceana to try out the 7D + 100-400 combo after the latter's recent trip to Canon netted surprisingly few photos. They were on a crapshoot of an afternoon all day long. I ended up just spending time with a good friend, and shooting whatever happened to come our way. We may not have gotten Hornets, but the day ended with an even better visitor.

Some Romans coming in for the break

The CAG Jet of the VFA-103 Jolly Rodgers, returning from a month at sea

And lastly, but not least-ly, "The Spirit of Global Reach", the first C-5M SUper Galaxy built, departing runway 05

    Retracting the gear:

    And climbing out

Not many pics, but I hope you enjoyed them,

    Nick

Very Nice, The Jolly Rodgers on the tail always just looks weird on the Bug to me. I would love to be close to Oceana.

Did you happen go get any shots of the F-14 at Fentress before it was chopped up? I was down there in September and was told they chopped it up about a year earlier.

Here is the bug that was down there....

I didn't shoot it, but I saw it the several times I passed by and when I caught a flight there. It is gone, though.
