JFK 03/12/2012 A Special Surprise Visitor

I actually started to get bored and decided to go to KLGA for some change of scenery and am I glad I was lazy to leave.

    from Bradley?

    31R

    31L

    13L (it's been a while)

Oh yeah, and that funny looking A340 came in again

    "RSD008 Heavy"

And she left as quickly and quietly as she came in... completely unannounced. Used same callsign to depart: "RSD008 Heavy"
Sorry for the seriously back-lit and heavily cropped image... I was about 1/4 mile away

I started to head to Bayswater for the departure but Clearance Delivery was debating a RWY change so I stayed around just in case. Well, they eventually got 13R for departure and I never thought I would make it to Bayswater given the distance and traffic. Was I wrong. The line for departure was very long and even as efficient as JFK is, they still took a while, especially delaying some departures for 22R arrivals! UGH! I think I would have made it but... oh well, next time

    Moose? ??

Anyway, can someone help me figure out the first one? "VP-CSI" - NO RECORD of it that I can find anywhere. Could be Cayman Islands or Falklands... but Falklands should be VP-F** not VP-C** It came in from Bradley ... no callsign, used "Victor Papa Charlie" as identifier.

I asked some of my friends at Connecticut Plane Spotters if they knew anything about CP-CSI. Could have been getting maintenance at the Bombardier facility at BDL.

Nice stuff! Glad somebody caught that Russian bird. I saw its tail taxiing to 13R as my flight was taxiing into Terminal 8.

Unlike Manny (whom I haven't met yet, am looking forward to that) I was luckily on the correct side of that 96. I was out in Bayswater alone and with no idea that it was in town, and was gobsmacked when I saw it take off. I was actually there to catch the Transaero 773, which didn't show up, but I'm not complaining - I got the more interesting Russian by far.
