    Canon Announces 5D MkIII, Plus New Flash Gear, Wireless File Transmitter & GPS Tagger

    Canon has announced the 5D Mark III...
    New 22.3 MP sensor plus some "trickle down" features from the 1D-X.

    Price: $3500 (body)
    Sensor: 22.3-megapixel, full-frame (36.0mm x 24.0mm) CMOS
    Processor: Digic 5+
    Max ISO: 25,600 (standard), 102,400 (expanded)
    Max Image Size: 5,784 x 3,856
    Video: 1080p (24/25/30 fps), 720p (24/25/30/50/60 fps)
    Display: 1.04-million dot, 3.2-inch LCD

    They're also launching a new flash gun and wireless flash transmitter, PLUS a wireless file transmitter attachment and a GPS receiver for geotagging.

    Sheesh, for that price I could have bought 2 7D's and a 24-105. I think I made out alright then. Guess I'll try to pick one of these up when the 5DIV comes out

    Pretty disappointing response to the D800, IMHO.

    Hope they still stock the 5DMkII...$3500 is a bit much for me to think about. Maybe the MkII's price will start to be discounted???

    I bought my Mk II new in December for $1,999. The price will most likely return to that, and Canon have said the Mk II will remain a current model.
