    BWI-1 November 2011

    Hey Guys,

I figured I'd best share the trip that started my 6 week spotting extravaganza next. I was scheduled to fly BWI-SJU on AirTran, when the asked for volunteers to be bumped. While most people would have dreaded it, I had only one thought "Spotting Opportunity!". I got bumped, and caught a cab over to Friendship Park. Had a blast too!

These pics are, sadly, not in chronological order (thank you Flickr) but I think we can accept that

Sunset light at BWI rocks, in a big way.

Strange little fella, this one is.

Sorry Airbus fans, but I do prefer US's 737s

And no other SW Special was had that day...

Things I have learned thus far, I will only shoot American Eagle ERJ's when not at DFW, where I regard them as completely mundane. I guess it's psychological

Shocker, but this was actually my first Delta Maddog.

I won't bore you with the 50+ SW 737's that were had that day, they all looked kinda like this one

    And this one

    And my first 739!

Either there is more than one Deja Blue, or I have shot this jet multiple times (Deja Vu perhaps?)

Thankfully AirTran sent me one of my favorite aircraft in a special scheme

    My first A321

    Love this livery

It tried to storm a few times

My first MD-90, and at sunset nonetheless

A quick terminal shot from that morning

And lastly, the only reason I stayed out there as late as I did

After the BAW 767, I decided to get back to the terminal to get a ride over to my hotel. Sadly, cabs couldn't be found, so I walked a miserably cold 7 miles back to the terminal, with gear in tow. It was worth it, however.

Hope y'all enjoyed, and can get down to BWI some day!

Wow those sunset shots are killer. I can't wait when the sun is out long enough for the BA 767 to get that!

I give you 95/100 points, 5 points deducted because you posted one too many SWA :P

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed it there. I would have liked a SW special or two, but was pleased with the Sabrejet/Falcon hybrid.

    Great shots, Nick!
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
