Manny, due to unforseen personal complications, I will not be there. But as soon as I know anything, I will call you

Last email from the Intrepid, all systems go !!!

    ''
We look forward to seeing you at the arrival ceremony for space shuttle
    Enterprise
    tomorrow morning at JFK Airport.

The latest weather report indicates that conditions remain favorable for the shuttle and its 747 carrier aircraft to fly from Dulles Airport to JFK Airport as scheduled.

Please note, however, that as we have seen all week, weather conditions may change. Therefore, we urge you to check our
    special shuttle arrival website
, tomorrow morning prior to departing for the ceremony.

Late changes in weather or other factors might result in NASA making last-minute changes to the flight plan, and email notification to you might not be possible at that point.

    So please check the
    website
where we will post news of any change in plan.

However, as of now the forecast looks good and all systems remain go to welcome
    Enterprise
to New York tomorrow morning. It will be windy so please dress accordingly.

We look forward to seeing you then!''

Like fk6065 a few pages back I wanna do the whole Inwood for pass 1 then run over to Bayswater but that might be a bit ambitious for a first timer at JFK. Decisions decisions...

I'll be busting my Bayswater cherry tomorrow and bringing 2 car loads of people with Wunala Kenny. After looking at the weather forcast and parking situation on Google Earth all I can say is dress warm and get there early. Oh that golf course looks soooo tempting!

Taking my day off today to head back towards NYC for this little shindig, especially since I had the audacity to miss it in DC the other week. I thought about heading over to Liberty State park for some up-the-river-with-the-city-in-the-background action, but it seems like most people are going to set up camp at Bayswater or Inwood...

With so many options and a route that's subject to change I suppose anything around 31L would be a sure shot at a photo. What time are you folks aiming to be in position?

Trust me, avoid the golf course.

    Hi all

New to the forum, I am curious why everyone is going to Inwood or Bayswater. I was thinking about heading towards the Howard Beach/Hamilton Beach area? How do we know the plane will come in over the Rockaways? Just want to be sure I am not wasting my time.

Have fun today. I still plan for Battery Park where I could see possibly 2 fly-bys over the Statue and part of the excursion over EWR. Thanks to Matt for giving a detailed explaination of today's flight. It is really helpful as so is the map. My only fear is that EWR could use Rwy 29 due to strong winds but chances are they will be on the 22 complex as the wind is now 310 at 22 G27. This will be the second time I've seen the SCA/Shuttle combo over NYC. I last saw this on June 10,1983.

It is almost certainly will land 31L especially with the winds today, however Howard Beach will get you a nice shot if the planned fly over does happen.
It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do

Think they will keep the jet & shuttle outside for a while after she lands?

    Thanks Eric

After it lands I suspect that the howard beach side of the runway will provide good shot on ground with tower behind it! I know you guys are gonna great great shots in Inwood but maybe I get something different? I have a 18-250 mm lens.

Is there an android app that I can listen to the tower?
