Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
I've always found Floyd Bennett Field to be such an interesting and historically significant place. Great place for photography.
Always a fun journey whenever I see a photo tour of FBF.
Email me anytime at [email protected].
I love FBF and its history!

BRING BACK THE KJFK/KLGA OBSERVATION DECKS
nice find! i'd love to be able to use my talents and abilities to help restore the buildings there....it's fascinating for me in that it mixed my love of nyc and aviation history in one place.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
Nice find. As a kid I used to play minigolf across Flatbush Avenue at that Gateway place and used to watch the JFK arrivals. Sometimes after we would drive out to FBF. I also used to practice driving out there when I was preparing for my road test.

My old stomping grounds with my kids back in the 90s. Both my sons learned to ride bikes and roller blades there. And for me it was helo heaven with NYPD Aviation on one side, CGAS Brooklyn on the other. And remember the Big Blue Hangar along Flatbush? That was where they used to keep all the warbirds and was used for the many fairs they had there. I couldnt believe they tore it down. So many great memories. My kids called it the "Copter Park". Easier than Floyd Bennett Field for a 6 year old.
i remember when A4s and P2V Neptunes used to roar and rumble out of there in the 60s early 70s,all in JFKs shadow, Brooklyns own !!!
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
