JFK Monday 1/16/2011 SIA A380 [DATE CORRECTION]

Sunday is approaching fast and it's time to start a discussion thread. So who is committing to come out on Sunday? I am planing to start driving at 3am for 7am arrival my self. Weather.com 5 days forecast shows a nice, clear, cold and crispy day but you know that's going to change.

As long as the forecast stays looking good I will be there first thing Sunday morning. Check your PM.

If they are using the 31s, the A380 will land 31L which means we will have to use Inwood, or Bayswater. Personally, I prefer the angle from Inwood for 31L arrivals.

What time is this arrival scheduled? Isn't this the usual 11:10AM arrival from FRA?

Let's hope for RWY 4R for that nice close approach. Otherwise 31L will be next best choice. And hope for no 22L as the sun will not cooperate and North Woodmere is far away from the pattern!

Right now the winds are looking to be forecast out of the NW-NNW which would normally dictate that the 4s or 31s would be in use, but as we all know lately that JFK doesn't seem to care what the wind is doing when choosing runways. From a light source standpoint I am hoping for 31L since it will get full side on sun. But I'd like 4R since it will be nice and close and get that awesome light bounce off of Jamaica Bay. Hmmmmmmm

Thanks everyone. Today SQ26 9V-SPP Boeing 744 landed from FRA at 10:21am. I assume this will be the time frame for the A380 arrival as well on Sunday. Wouldn't this make Inwood or Bayswater back-lit?

I am making every effort to get over this flu bug so I can drive up there. I also am a fan of Inwood shots just to cover the 4's or 31L. If they switch to 22 at the last minute I don't know how anybody could make it in time. They switched like that from 22's to 31L for Lufthansa and I raced my ass off to get to Panera in time, I never would have made Inwood. Fortunately it was rainy so there was no backlighting!

umm, no. 4R and 31L should be fine at 10AM.

I may be out on the island doing some home improvement work with my brother-in-law, but I am going to make every effort to make it back home Sunday morning by 9am or there about.
