Awesome stuff! You sold me on a trip to Dubai! I was going to go to Germany in 2013, but I think you just made up my mind! What is the access like? Spotter friendly?

My fave is that Yakovlev ... didn't think you could spot in Dubai or many of the middle east countries for obvious security reasons ... looks like a great place for eastern block planes.

Shooting in Dubai is no problem, I heard that the police really did not like, but I had no problems. I believe that staying at the Sheraton Deira is a good option, but there is not shooting well, the angle is much below the aircraft, you can stay at the Sheraton and photograph of a street which is opposite the hotel, I was also in the runway 30L, I stood there all morning and had no problems with security. Arriving at the Sheraton print a map of the airport and take a taxi and tell the driver where you want to go, it is very easy and inexpensive.

    I photographed places -
Al Rachidya Park - 30L runway, takeoffs and landings
al Mutene Street, near the Sheraton Deira - 12 R landings
in front of Carrefour Abu Baker Street - 12R tekeoffs
Sheraton Deira - 12 and 30 runways, takeoffs and landings

Thanks for sharing that valuable info. It was definitely much appreciated. Now, all I need to do is get my passport and save money.

Great stuff and variety of flying metal. Speaking of trips......one of my wish trips for 2012 would be a trip to LAX, Boeing Field, and ANC.
