Yemeni President to be Treated in New York (Look out for 747SP?)

The Obama Administration has decided to allow outgoing Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh to receive medical treatment in New York within the next few days so do keep an eye out for the possibility of the Yemenia 747SP visiting JFK! http://www.cnn.com/2011/12/27/world/...html?hpt=hp_t1

Al Jazeera reports he is now in Oman on his way to the US and will stay there for several days. I really think he will arrive tomorrow. Hmm, I wonder if they send the SP to IAD for long term parking like they did for the Saudis. That will be sweet.

Likely he will come to New York-Presbyterian Hospital if in NY (no official word from our International group yet) so I am hopeful.

Mark (or should I say, "Mr. Dreamlifter") we already know you're going to catch it, so I fully expect to come back to the site in a few days and see it in all its glory

Maybe Eric will be first to the party as he is also a formidable challenger... I have to work unfortunately... but IF I have a fighting chance, look out, I will compete! :P

Passed by the field on the way to work earlier this morning and thus far nothing. I vote for Eric as well, although Conrad is always lurking around and in stealth mode.

Well, true, but Conrad is not one to post here. He is one that also has a formidable collection I am sure!

    Apparently on his way... http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/23/world/...ent/index.html

There's no confirmation that he will be on the 747SP but hopefully it'll be something interesting.

Since he was technically ousted from power, would he be allowed to use the government plane? I would expect a private jet or similar... but I am hopeful ... Terrible weather for arrival if indeed the SP :-(

7O-YMN is the reg if anyone wants to try to find it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he were on an Amiri Flight plane or a private charter.

From Oman on an Amiri flight? I doubt it... unless he flew to Qatar first I don't see a Qatari gov't plane going to Oman to pick up this pax.

UPDATE: A website in Lebanon says he's on a "private Saudi plane." Not clear if that means a chartered Saudi Arabian Airlines plane or something else.

On that note, this Saudi Arabian 777-200 just landed at IAD from JED. Not a normal flight number.
