Can't wait to see everyone's photos of this.
Happy hunting, photographically of course.

It just never ever gets old , now can't wait for the raptors to come in I live around sayville and they sound wild
I'm in Melville and just spent the last 25 minutes outside the office building hoping for a glimpse of the Blues. There's a wide open area to view in the direction of FRG. Alas, I was hoping they'd head northward. But no... it was not to be.
Probably looked like an idiot standing there with a camera in hand but nothing to capture. I guess they went off R-14? From here, I could hear them quite well, but only saw very tiny specs moving rapidly away from FRG. Saw Ernie for just a few seconds before he too, turned away.
Just wasn't lucky today. Or yesterday either...
Yesterday morning, I had stopped by the Terminal before heading to the office to get some static shots of the Blues. Have a small (but useful) Canon Powershot which normally works quite well for me - I'm not a pro (or even close to it). Well... I turned it on and was greeted with a "Memory Card Error!" The thing worked just fine the day before - no idea what was wrong. Took it out - fiddled with it - put it back in. Nothing. Now I'm getting really ticked off.
Finally, I played around with some settings in the camera menus and eventually it took hold. Snapped about 35 shots of anything Blue I could get through the fence. I was happy. Photos taken, mission accomplished. Even checked them on the camera's LCD before leaving. Looked good.
Or so I thought.
Back at the office, I eagerly loaded up my SD card to check what I got. Yeah, the pictures were fine, but they were tiny! Apparently, in my haste to fix the SD card problem, I inadvertently set my image size to "email" (ie: real small).
Oy! Not thrilled about that. Does that ever happen to you guys?
I need a do-over!! When do they return?
The Angels just flew by my office's are of town (West 50th). You're right, Bones. Never EVER gets old. Had ZERO shot at a photo; gaps in the buildings were too tight to try and get anything in terms of focusing done. Enjoy the rest of the day, folks. NOW I'm officially ready for this weekend!

Yeah, I just saw them buzz by Syosset, in formation, under the cloud base - about 500 feet - smoke on!
