Now that the 747-8i is cert, think we will seeing her at either jfk or ewr next year. But it is pretty impressive that they get both 747 cert and the 787 cert in 5 months.

The only pax operator is going to be Lufthansa, I believe. If it comes to North America, I would bet IAD before anything up here.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
Think one of the Chinese carriers are considering the 747-8i also. Some routes the A388 is just to much capacity and the 773 is not enough for the secondary routes out there.
I look at the EU carriers. They have problems filling the A380 allot of times on NA routes. That is one reason LH do not fly it in the winter to jfk form FRA. And they do not fill the muc flight all the time. They fly muc-fra because people just want to fly the white whale as it is new. Right now they can not even fill 2 744 at jfk. At jfk all you see is 2 A346. Think the b748 is better match for most of their routing with capacity vs the a388. That would make sense with their 20 748 order with the option for 20 more. And only ordering 15 A388. As I saw an interview with their old ceo, the only reason they order 15 A388 was they needed to order more then 10 to get a substantial discount. And with their 3rd kinda hub from DUS. They have allot of capacity to the NYC metro area. 2 FRA form JFK and EWR, 2 MUC to JFK and 1 to EWR, and DUS to EWR.
