    NY Shots - 2 December 2011

I had to trek up to New York for work, so I thought I'd take some shots around the city the day before. Normally, I don't venture into the tourist spots to avoid crowds. I made an exception this time. I only used my Canon 10-22 wide angle lens.

    Trinity Church

Manhattan from the Central Park reservoir

Manhattan skyline at sunset from the Top of the Rock. I was asked to leave after a few shots with my tripod fully extended. I still managed to get all of my shots that I wanted:

Christmas at the Chase Building. Did they use bailout money for this?

WW II monument in Battery Park:

    Last of the fall colors

    Broadway near Battery Park

I was so annoyed with stupid holiday shoppers to get this shot because they kept bumping into me as I was steadying for the shot. This is attempt #5:

My favorite shot of the set! I almost deleted it originally because of the water spots that were on my lens. But, I think it adds a bit more misery to the mood.

Those are some great photos Tim. All the trips I have taken to NY to go to JFK I have yet to venture into Manhattan. It definitely is on my to do list and must say that I hope when I do I come away with shots of this quality.

Thanks Steve! I work around aircraft all day; so for me, it's nice to get into the city every now and again.
