Who will get those LGA and DCA slots?!

25 hours left in the auction for the LGA and DCA slots divested by Delta and US Airways for their slot swap deal...and no bidders yet.

I presume they're just waiting until the last minute to avoid showing their hand.

I really like the eBay-style "Place a Bid" button on the FAA site: http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/.../ReAllocation/

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

There was a $5 million bid on the LGA "B" Bundle this afternoon. The highest bid listed for LGA "A" is $2 (yes, two dollars) and DCA is $1.

BUT, the auction closed at 5pm, which is apparently the same time everyone in Washington goes home. The FAA says they will not reveal the final hour of bids and the winners until tomorrow.

I have reason to believe the $5 million bid was from a NYC-based airline with blue tails, but this is not at all confirmed.

WestJet is already in the NYC area - 1x daily at Newark during the summer. Arrival around 1600L, departure around 1700L.
