US Navy Testing New Airship Over New York on Wednesday 11/9/11

    From NYC OEM:
Weather permitting, the U.S. Navy and the FAA will conduct capabilities flights using a U.S. Navy MZ-3A Airship (a blimp) in and around NYC tomorrow, 11/09/11, from 9:00 AM-4:30 PM. The flights will be based out of Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, and will operate at altitudes of 1,000 feet and below. Please find a photo of this aircraft attached.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

So what is the over/under on the number of panicked 911 calls about this on Wednesday? Remember, if you see something, say something...

It has gotten "US Navy" titles added to the sides since the above photo was taken, not sure if that will help or hurt the number of 911 calls.

Other than the OEM email, which obviously not everyone is subscribed to, and (believe it or not) an even smaller percentage read this site, so I'm guessing not many folks will be informed when they see this thing in the morning. I haven't seen anything about it in local media.

i'm pretty sure i heard it last night as i finally crawled into bed around 0100.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
