It will be my first Oceana airshow as well, I was invited as a member of a team. I am honored to be going this year. The Performer that invited me called me tonight to "THANK ME" for all of my help with the team in the past and to say that he feels that I am still doing HIM a favor in going! I do not want to go into any details now but WOW. Wish me luck!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

We will be there as well... this show is on our permanent list ... hehehe.

Hope to see some good CONA stuff and some Navy warbirds. I also hope that the A-4 and F-5 that have been rumored, do show up.

I recommend visiting the Officers Club after the Friday night show - it is well worth it.

I believe we will have a chance to see something special :) as always at Oceana....

Manny Im always waiting for VFC-12 Fighting Omars.... I love this guys, one of my favorite Squadron in Navy :) I believe we will see some Special planes, last year was Tomcatter CAG Bird, Im exoecting to see cool.

Whos going first time ??? Very good decision :) Guys you are going to see NAS Oceana.... Expect to say WOW at least few times :) you will love it ! you can miss whole season but not NAS Oceana Air Show. This is Aviation Paradise :)

Guys don't make any planes for Friday night! Lets all go to the "O Club" after the night show. it is Officers Club located in NAS Oceana, amazing place, you going to love it, and you can hang out with Blue Angels and other performers, great place, must see !

According to the schedule there will be an "A-4B Skyhawk Demonstration" - haven't seen one of these fly in years. Very cool...

Also among the warbirds flying in a "Victory at Sea" demonstration will be a Skyraider, Avenger, Dauntless and Wildcat. There will also be an F8F Bearcat (legacy flight) and a Navy SNJ.

    One more day.....

STOP IT ! no talking about weather here ! its a bad luck, rain or snow Im going and I don't care ! :))))

We should be good, and Im sure we will have a lot of fun :)

Just to remind one important thing to the people whos going first time to Oceana: DO NOT TAKE PICTURES OF: HANGARS and PLANES parked in the base, Oceana is very strict about, you will get arrested for that so be careful. We are allowed to take pictures of Air Show stuff, static displays, performers planes parked on the ramp. There will be a good view on the parking lot full of hornets it looks great and very unusual. I bet we all try to take picture of that so be careful :)))) and don't post em ! Oceana is cool but lets follow and respect Oceanas rules.....

First time at NAS Oceana turned out to be a bust due to weather (oh well...........there is always next year). Met up with Chris, Manny, Bill and some other folks. Here are some from me.

Nice pics. Was that from Friday? So Sat and Sun were washed out? That definitely sucks.

Most are from Friday, the only thing from Saturday is the 737 (first two pics). The ceiling was too low Sat. and then the rains came in. I gave up around 1-ish before heading back to the hotel. This morning from what I understand was similar. Maybe Chris has more insight since I am flying back home today. Will post some more photo's from Friday and Saturday (some static displays).

You guys can say whatever you want to.... for me it was one of the best airshows this year :) I saw A LOT of aviation friends, and some are very important like Mark and Manny :)

Sunday was we had some flying, catching the vapor cone was so easy that vapor cone picture is no longer considered rare.... probably most of the people with call phone cameras had a chance to catch it :)

Believe it or not bu even the Bob Carlton glider had vapor on his wings few times :) Challenging wx but rain or snow I do not care, seeing all friends at the air show, hang out and having fun just PRICELESS. I have a 3 more airshows this year, hope that I will show something good here in November :) Im processing Oceana now will see what I have....
