IAD 8/20/11 [IMAGE HEAVY]

I was finally able to make it out to NoVa in between all the constant T-storms. It was a beautiful day and probably one of the best outings at Dulles I've ever had. I finally got a nice side-on shot of the A380 in sun, and ATC put almost every international arrival on 19L, over the purple lot - my favorite spot. Another highlight was the TACA A319, which we don't see very often in daylight.

Great shots. One of my goals is to make it down to IAD one of these days. Its nice to see some of the airlines we have at JFK and BOS but using different equipment.

Thanks guys. Dulles has really grown in the past few years, and security has gotten much more lax in to, which makes spotting at Dulles nice. Also, September is the nicest time of the year down hear if anyone is planning a spotting trip ;)

Very nice shots, John. I'm hopefully going to spend an hour or two this afternoon spotting at IAD, hoping to catch the A380 departing. Do you happen to know if it can and does depart from 1R with all of the other Euro heavies?
