    Thumbs down Naming of Aircraft Biting the Dust ?

    As a spotter for decades, I have noticed that most airlines no longer bother to name their aircraft. I always enjoyed trying to read the names on the fuselage's front. Nowadays, the only US airline I see with titles is Jet Blue. Sadly, Air India and Egyptair no longer seem to name their aircraft. Air France aircraft never had titles and no A388's I've seen have any names, as well.I thought it was nice to name a plane but either it's too much expense to paint or some other reason. While Aer Lingus and El Al still names their aircraft; I am not certain if Alitalia, Iberia or British Airways still do so. To my knowledge, the airliners from the Far East (ANA, JAL, KAL, and others) never named their planes.

    Don't forget about Hawaiian, Virgin America, Virgin Blue/Australia, Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Icelandair, Qatar, Thai, etc.

    Air Tahiti Nui and Air Tahiti (domestic inter-island) name their aircraft also. I was lucky to fly on Rangiroa F-OSEA earlier this year between LAX and PPT.

    c'mon those were always the best!

    we still have nicknames for some of the a/c we have to deal with. there's TRAsh, TuRD, TeRriBle....
    it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
