    Liberty State Park

Saturday evening I went over to Liberty State Park with a local photo group for a late afternoon/sunset shoot. I've been there a number of times, and it gives some nice views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal - the CRR operated from 1839 to 1976. From this terminal, passengers boarded ferries for the trip across the Hudson to Manhattan. The restored building was constructed in 1889, and expanded in 1914. Twelve covered train platforms are on the back side of the terminal, and the ferry piers were to the right of the photo.

1 World Trade Center rises over the surrounding buildings.

    AWESOME SHOTS MOOSE!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

That is some fantastic work! You know, everytime I come down to JFK I always tell myself that I am going to set aside the time to get some panoramic shots of the NYC skyline, but never do. I think (as long as the weather cooperates) when I come down next week over night I'm going to make my way over to get a good view of the city.

Is there any location that provides a good view that would be alright to visit at night alone?

Well, there's Liberty State Park...and just north of there, the waterfront promenade in Jersey City offers similar views. I've been to both areas at night (well, evening, not overnight...) and there are always people around. If you don't want to head to NJ, Brooklyn Bridge Park works as well.

Thanks for the info guys. Will probably just saty on the NY side and hit up Brooklyn Bridge Park.
