JFK 7-22-11 Air Zimbabwe 767

Not really a spotting session, but did come away with one lucky catch. I was at JFK to pick up a relative when I had some time to kill. I was on one of the airport roads when a parade of 7 limousines with heavily tinted windows and Zimbabwe flags passed me going the opposite direction.

A while later, I spotted the Air Zimbabwe 767 parked in front of the triple hangars. Barely 5 minutes after passing the limousine convoy, the 767's beacons were on and she was starting up. Moments later, she taxied to and departed from 13R.

It looks like Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe was on board, according to this article.

Mark.........great catch, and great timing that you had to pick up a relative at JFK. Unfortunately, I was away on a business trip and wasn't able to catch this bird.
