    KJFK - 7/13/2011 (Lufthansa 50 Years)

A few more days of vacation left.....I was on a mission today to catch the Lufthansa A380 departing off RWY 31L from Charles Park. Additionally while shooting the departures, a NYPD vehicles drove right in front of me with me standing there with two cameras (one in hand, and the other on a monopod), and nothing was said other than "Hi", and they kept on driving on the pedestrian walkway. Also, I got a spotting tip from Eric who informed me the Lufthansa 747 with the 50 Years with Boeing scheme was listed to show up (this bird is on my list), so I had to go out again to see!

Here are a few of the A380 departure

While waiting for the Lufthansa 747 to arrival, this departed

    Air France 747

Just as the light went downhill ........ heavy post processing

Just as I was heading home........I caught this departing of 31L

That's why you smelled like that last Sunday! Tell that thing to lay off the broccoli!

The sky in your last frame is gorgeous. Too bad it was wasted on an Eagle lol. Great stuff Mark!

Thanks Kaz .... I was hoping it would have banked earlier to get a slightly different angle. Now to catch that Swiss A340 with the San Francisco scheme (HB-JMJ is the reg) in good light (hope she makes her way to JFK soon).

Nice shots. Note the A310 of the German Government appears to be using a zero flap takeoff (slats only).... must be very light.

Thanks Rich and everyone else ! One of my things is to always try different perspectives. After a while you can only take so many shots at Panera, etc. so having a different view helps.

I have a thing for aircraft banking shots so I love the 380 in the turn. Excellent!
