    P-51 Lost at Duxford

I am sad to report that the P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll" piloted by Rob Davies was involved in a midair collision with a Skyraider. Fortunately, Rob Davies was able to bail out & survive with only minor injuries, unfortunately, the same can't be said for the Doll. The Skyraider was able to land safely with extensive damage to the right wing.

Oh My!!! At least everyone is OK! Those pictures are awesome....scary but awesome! Very happy that the pilot made the decision to bail out.

What is the bailout system like on the Mustang? Is there some sort of ejection seat or is it pop the canopy & jump?

It's just a manual bail out, Tim, no ejection seat.

from the video it looked like the A-1 pilot lost sight of the P-51 as he pulled out.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
