    Flickr Pro?

Well after this past airshow I realized my free Photobucket account isn't going to cut it. I was thinking about SmugMug but it's a bit expensive at the moment and I don't think I would be able to utilize its full potential right now. I was thinking of just buying a Flickr Pro account and a domain for the account.

So has anyone had experience with Flickr Pro? Is it worth it or are there better alternatives?

EDIT: Oops wrong section can the mods move this to Photography?

I use Flickr Pro (also Photobucket, server space, and a number of other services). What are you intending to use it for? Just somewhere to host/display your pictures, or original photo storage space, etc.?

I'm already on Flickr and love it but I don't have a Pro account. What's the main advantages of Pro over the free account- I know you get to post in more groups

You're not limited to only 200 photos being displayed.

And you get Flickr Stats as well. This gives you statistics about your photo views...

I use Flickr Pro. Easy to use, unlimited storage, great price.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

For your comparison spreadsheet... I also have SmugMug, Flickr, Pbase, ZenFolio, my own server (LOL) etc. etc.

Do not discount the power and capacity of SmugMug. It is infinitely customizable and you can tweak a lot of knobs that you can't in other services. Also, Amazon AWS back end, they offer unlimited storage for all your images (and ANY files if you add on the storage package) they also offer video hosting up to 1080p. You also have the capacity to almost completely remove any signs of SmugMug being your hosting provider if that matters to you (they always have at least the SmugMug link at the bottom of the page. Also remember you can try the full service for free!

Pbase has an interesting cost model where you only pay for what you use. So if you only have a certain amount of storage, you pay for it once, no recurring.

Also, once your needs grow to a certain point, don't forget the option of your own ISP hosted domain account. I use BlueHost and for the price, I have UNLIMITED storage as well... and host as many domains as you like under one account. For my main domain (ThrustImages.com) hosted on BlueHost, I use an open source gallery script called Zen Photo which gives you similar features as the online databases...

Bottom line no matter what your choice, you should have a good experience with any of the top providers.
