    JFK 5/29/11 (IMAGE HEAVY)

Did not manage to get out to FRG this afternoon, sorry Manny, hope you had a great time !

Stopped by the mounds for a few hours, light was awesome but boy I wish I had BUG SPRAY, there were millions of them !!! I ran into a fellow spotter from Puerto Rico which made for great company.

Also, today was Sunday, NO SCHOOL, but I think someone did manage to call the authorities, by the time I was done and already around the corner a block away, a state trooper was heading to the mounds, I was at the red light for a good 5 minutes and I did not see him, which tells me he stopped there. so maybe after all its not just the school thats making the phone calls. just my take on it. Maybe the trooper wasnt even there for me.

Anyway, here some pics from the day

would love to see this next to a A380 on the ground ...

    Nice shots Kaz!

Air France A380, didn't think that came in today as I saw the 747 depart while walking the beach this evening. Guess they were both here.

I saw every one of these over-fly FRG while I was there. Nice to see someone was at the other end getting them on short final!!

Looks like you had some great light. Awesome shots!

Nice shots. I'm glad the day turned out to be a nice one! I departed this morning at 8am on the Avianca A330 flight to BOG and the airport was completely fogged in/cloudy.

Great stuff Kaz as always... North American remains elusive for me. On a related note, I will be selling bug spray at the mounds when Im there... have to pay for new body and lens somehow!

I was also at the mounds briefly today, but was almost instantaneously eaten alive, and left. They were landing 22R at one point.

Beautiful shots Kaz! Glad to see you managed to get out and get some good shots this weekend. I am dying to get some spotting done. Thursday cannot get here soon enough for me so I can enjoy some beautiful desert spotting!

Well you made the best out of not going to FRG... The one picture I wanted to get (Low Pass by Fifi) happened on RWY 14 as I waited on 19 :-(

Tomorrow I will likely make it to JFK after a month away ... between business trips, personal travel, airshows and such, JFK has gotten the cold shoulder from me!

A heads up for those who haven't been to JFK in a bit, South African has upgraded to the A340-600.

    Taken this morning:

I've got many shots of Fifi on a 19 fly-by...happened at 10:46 AM with the B-17 and B-25 as well. Which is why you should have arrived before noon! Haha.

Where were you standing in the afternoon? I was at the D&B lot. Then Fifi went to 14 while the other ones came back to 19 for landing.

Kaz..........sorry I was able to join you (unfortunately the family BBQ lasted longer than I expected), by the way........great nose shots! Now is a good time to get bug spray if you plan on going to the mounds. I think I went through a few cans last year.

Manny......I may bump into you tomorrow, before going to another BBQ. I'm hoping to do some early morning spotting weather permitting of course.
