    LAX 4/25/11

Headed out for some afternoon arrivals yesterday. The weather has been pretty clear recently, and the low light close to sunset has made for some nice photos. Take care, Brian.

What is the location for those touchdown spots? I would love to hit there up sometime.

Great set Brain! Next time I'm out in the LA area, I definitely have to hit that location. I know it's a hike from the vehicle, but it's well worth it in my opinion.

That would be Westchester pkwy. Great spot. Just a few minute walk from where you park the car.
It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do

Is that a spot that you can stand at for periods of time without being hasseled? Or do you have to snap a photo and keep walking and then come back for the next plane?

Yea the spot on Manchester is really amazing, but the times I have been there you can only get shots for the last hour or so of the day because of the light and heat haze. Luckily there are several heavies that show up in a wave around sunset.

I have only been questioned once at that location, As far as i know you can stand there. Funny thing about that one time though I was with a few Russian and Canadian Spotters, I was the only American. Made for some interesting conversation with the officers but everything turned out fine.

That's good to know. I just looked it up on google maps. Do you take photos from the sidewalk, or can you venture down onto the grassy area there?

You stand on the sidewalk by the bridge. I think heading to the grassy areas would not yield good shots, plus they may be airport property.

I was thinking that, but couldn't really tell what the view would be like looking at it from google maps. Thanks for the info!
