Bill Reesman, Red Bull MiG Pilot,

It is with a heavy heart that a good friend of mine, Bill Reesman, who is well-known for flying the Red Bull MiG-17 at airshows all over the United States, passed away recently. Bill was a GREAT guy and one heck of an airshow pilot and his loss is a big loss for the airshow community.

Bill has performed at the Jones Beach Airshow as well as the Joint Services Open House and the NAS/JRB Willow Grove Air Fest in years past.

Please keep in mind that out of respect for Bill's family, this is the most I can state with regards to his passing, and I hope you guys can understand that.

I'm going to miss Bill. Below is a video from the last airshow I saw Bill perform.

So sorry to hear the news, Steve. I'm glad I had the chance to meet Bill and see him fly at FRG a couple of years ago.

I knew Bill as well... had no idea he passed :-( very sad to hear. I will always remember him and his Mig. His was special to me because I grew up next to an Air Base with MiGs in Cuba... hence my love of airplanes. RIP

I met him during the Jones Beach Airshow... I will miss him and feel bad for his wife Julie. Very Sad
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
