    JFK - 4/18/2011

Had some time to kill today prior to hitting the dentist. Bumped into Conrad at HoBe, and caught this unexpected scheme for Sun Country (looks like Transavia). Unfortunately I couldn't a good shot. I had to extremely crop the image below since the bird took off way before the tower off 31L and then started to bank early. Otherwise just the usual morning suspects.

Looks like Transavia because it is. Sun Country and Transavia lease aircraft back and forth seasonally, as their "busy seasons" are opposite of each others. Sun Country gets some Transavia jets in the winter, and sends some of theirs the other way in the summer.

Yep it's been a good marriage even though I don't think the Transavia birds have FC and their seat pitch is rumored to be horrid. I also hate the new scheme I loved the older much better.

Mark, good catch on the Sun Country ... but, how the heck did you manage a side shot of the Taca? For me, they usually take off 31L full length and then turn over RWY 3L, that's how bad it is

Even when catching fish in a barrel, all I get is this sort of angle LOL

I'm with you on that Manny. First time I saw TACA it took off 4L while we were at Bayswater but teh heat shimmer was so bad the shot was impossible. Then this time when they were using the 22s and we were at Bayswater in the morning it never took off. I was really hoping to catch her leaving.

    Thank you gentlemen!!!

Moose......thanks for the info, I kind of thought so, but wasn't sure about the relationship.

Manny......I finally got lucky catching the TACA, she climbed out nicely and didn't turn early at all. She was still on the otherside of the bridge as she continued her climb.

Great shots Mark! I would have cancelled the dentist appointment though and stayed. :)

Nick, don't tease me like that I am seriously upset with the Taca and Avianca... although I must say I did get lucky EARLY one morning when avianca was late and got a shot of one of theirs on 31R ... but Taca keeps escaping me.

I officially say SCY hijack! How about a hybird with one wrong winglet?
