They probably scrapped the PhilSea from the list because they didn't want visitors to get herpes. That boat is DIRTY.

AWESOME!
I think I'm going to check out the parade of ships on Wednesday.
I'll probably park @ the Best Buy on Bay Parkway & walk down the waterfront to get as close to the VZ bridge as I can.
Rumor has it the fly over will consist of four F/A-18s, two Ospreys and some type of USCG aircraft. Same as last year plus the USCG aircraft.

BTW, what time does the fly over usually happen during the parade of ships ??
it is usually at the end just after the last ship passes under the Verrazzano, I gues around 10-10:30AM. And if you blink you miss it. The few times I have been there they only made one run up the river.

Any one have any idea how early people line up for the ships? How long do the lines get? Thanks
FYI- the 1911 Ely-Curtiss Pusher landed this morning at FBF. It will be on display there over the
next week for Fleet Week and it will also being doing a few flights over the Hudson River too.
Keep an eye on this link for latest scheduling info during it's stay at FBF.

I checked out their site, and saw this posted:
Even though I know the HARP hangar is usually open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, I took a ride over, thinking they might have extended hours due to this aircraft. The place was dark and locked up. There was an RV parked next to the hangar, which was obviously part of their team, but it was dark as well. Apparently "available from 20-27 May" doesn't mean "available to view..." I did send a e-mail to the contact address on their web site, looking for information about when and where it will be displayed. If I hear anything, I'll pass it along. We’ll be available from 20-27 May, flying, barnstorming and working with the Park Service on several presentations at the Floyd Bennett. We will stage out of Hangar B, Floyd Bennett Field

Approximately 3,000 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen will descend upon the city to celebrate the 24th Fleet Week New York, May 25 - June 1.
Fleet Week has been New York City's celebration of the sea services nearly every year since 1984. It is an unparalleled opportunity for citizens of New York and the surrounding Tri-State area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as see, first-hand, the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
In addition to public visitation of participating ships, there will be a number of exhibits showing off the technology of the maritime services and the skilled expertise of our service members.
