They probably scrapped the PhilSea from the list because they didn't want visitors to get herpes. That boat is DIRTY.

    AWESOME!

I think I'm going to check out the parade of ships on Wednesday.

I'll probably park @ the Best Buy on Bay Parkway & walk down the waterfront to get as close to the VZ bridge as I can.

Rumor has it the fly over will consist of four F/A-18s, two Ospreys and some type of USCG aircraft. Same as last year plus the USCG aircraft.

it is usually at the end just after the last ship passes under the Verrazzano, I gues around 10-10:30AM. And if you blink you miss it. The few times I have been there they only made one run up the river.

I checked out their site, and saw this posted:
We’ll be available from 20-27 May, flying, barnstorming and working with the Park Service on several presentations at the Floyd Bennett. We will stage out of Hangar B, Floyd Bennett Field
Even though I know the HARP hangar is usually open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, I took a ride over, thinking they might have extended hours due to this aircraft. The place was dark and locked up. There was an RV parked next to the hangar, which was obviously part of their team, but it was dark as well. Apparently "available from 20-27 May" doesn't mean "available to view..." I did send a e-mail to the contact address on their web site, looking for information about when and where it will be displayed. If I hear anything, I'll pass it along.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FWNYC 11-08 May 24, 2011

USS New York leads the Parade of Ships as Fleet Week gets underway

Norfolk, VA (CNRMA) -Fleet Week New York kicks off tomorrow with the review of the Parade of Ships along the Hudson River, rendering honors in Staten Island, the Statue of Liberty and the World Trade Center.
USS New York (LPD 21) will lead the procession starting at 9:30 a.m. with honors being rendered with an 11-gun salute at Fort Hamilton. Following in the procession are: USCGC Willow (WLB 22), USS Kauffman (FFG 59), USCGC Tampa (WMEC 902), USS John L. Hall (FFG 32), USCGC Katherine Walker (WLM 552), USS Carr (FFG 52), and rounding up the parade is USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7).
Stops along the parade route include the Statue of Liberty with a fly-over at 10:20 a.m. by two U.S. Navy F/A-18 aircraft from VFA-32, two U.S. Marine Corps V-22 aircraft from VMM-365, one U.S. Coast Guard HU-25 from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod and two U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 aircraft from VMFA-312. The parade route then proceeds along the Hudson to the World Trade Center with honors being rendered at 10:23 a.m.
Approximately 3,000 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen will descend upon the city to celebrate the 24th Fleet Week New York, May 25 - June 1.
Fleet Week has been New York City's celebration of the sea services nearly every year since 1984. It is an unparalleled opportunity for citizens of New York and the surrounding Tri-State area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as see, first-hand, the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
In addition to public visitation of participating ships, there will be a number of exhibits showing off the technology of the maritime services and the skilled expertise of our service members.
