    PVD 4/9/2011 New Angles

I decided to head out to PVD this morning to try out a spot I saw on google maps. THen I found another spot that is comparable to Panera down at JFK as far as it proximity and angle to flight path.

    Here we go:

    The shots just after sunrise

    Dirty United Airbus

FedEx 727-200 has seen better days

The Fred J Jones named SW 737

Finally got this one in good light. Seems to be overcast every time i've tried to get a shot of it

And some biz jets and ga

    Hoe you enjoyed!

Nice set, I like the panning Delta. Looks like the new location is a keeper.

    Thanks guys! I appreciate it!

@Jeremy - It payed off that the low light in the morning forced me to use a sloooow shutter speed. Now that I got my monopod, I can actually shoot at 1/80 and get sharp images. I love that thing!

The new location is pretty sweet, but unfortunately its one of those kinds of spots that I can't hang out at for long periods. I actually got snagged by airport police (found out I was actually on airport property) and was asked to move along. Turned out there actually were signs that stated "No Stopping, parking, etc.." The officer was super cool though and understood what I was doing and actually said next time I come to do some spotting to go over in the corner (and pointed to a spot) so I wouldn't be as out in the open and obvious. Thats when I moved to a parking lot up the road that offered a good angle and view of the flights approaching.

    Thanks!

T.F. Green Airport in Providence. I wouldn't make a trip out here just for PVD. Maybe make a long weekend and throw JFK and BOS in to make it worthwhile. PVD is mostly Southwest and USAirways E175s and E190s.
