    DAL - 4/4 and 4/6/2011

Had a business trip to Dallas, and after work decided to make an attempt to get to Love Field (DAL) via the Dallas transit system (D.A.R.T.), which wasn't bad from Downtown Dallas. Prior to going to DAL I decided to call the media representative at the airport (I got the number off the Love Field website). I informed the gentleman that I was planning on doing some plane spotting, and inquired about their policies and possible locations. The guy asked me when I would be spotting and told me even the best location, which was Parking Lot A on the roof top. He said he would inform Airport Ops as well just in case. I provided my name and I was good to go. Unfortunately not much variety at DAL, it's more or less one Southwest after another, with the except of some business corporate jets and some props. There were no special schemes for the short time that I was there. Additionally, since it was late afternoon (a few hours from sunset, all my photos were backlite). All photos were taken with my Nikon D300 and 70-300mm lens. When the aircrafts taxied in front of where I was positioned 70mm was too much for me.

Drinking and flying (well taxing in this case)

Is that a house in the background? That guy should put a spotting deck on his roof!

Been on that rooftop many times. It's a great spot though like you said it's a sunrise spot. Next time hit up Bachman lake at the NW side of the field. Perfect lighting and SXM like approaches.
